When Opportunity Knocks

Don't you just love when an unexpected opportunity presents itself to you?  That's exactly what happened this month.  Out of the blue, not expecting anything this month...gifts and opportunity came knocking on my doorstep.  
I find the more I am open to new experiences; the more experiences come and find me. 

How about you?  Are you finding that it's not an effort-Ing thing to make it happen, but more of a following an open heart, a follow your desires and the opportunities come to you, the gifts come to you.  

Tell me about your unexpected gifts and opportunities.

The first time I really recognized it was happening, it was covid and I wasn't working, and we were talking of moving to Mexico.  I had lost my position in the restaurant I had been working in and was grounded at home.

In the quiet I began to ask questions to God.  You know...who am I, why am I here, how can I make any money if I can't work?  Then I had an epiphany, a light bulb moment...I asked God for opportunities and gifts.  I wanted lots of opportunities and gifts, and if God and the angels could help me out, I would be totally open to receiving their guidance.  

To my surprise the gifts and the opportunities started pouring into my life.  A phone call to create a mural for a friend's wife's birthday, can you come and help me paint my house, gifts of money came in the mail...seriously...I was flabbergasted.  Paintings began to sell; opportunities came to place my art in retail settings.  

I began to realize, God told us to ask, to knock and that he wants to give gifts to his children, that abundance is our birthright.  Some of the struggle began to melt, I began to lean into allowing it all to take place, to allow it all to come to me.  To let go of the worries, the fear of not enough, the fear of that I wouldn't be cared for, or protected. 

The more I let it go the easier life is getting for me and the more peace I have in my heart.  

My surprise this month was a text asking if I could do a mural for a restaurant in a small town called Cozoaltepec, Oaxaca, Mexico. 

​ I love how there is so much appreciation for art in Mexico.  Everywhere you see murals on the sides of buildings and inside the buildings, many small and large art galleries, they even have an art school that offers free education for the arts because of a generous benefactor.   

This little town where I was to create the mural, was located close to Playa Auga Blanca, a super nice beach town with tide pools and rocks to climb.  The owner of the restaurant graciously offered to pick me up along with my daughter Christa Clark, and drive us to the Beach town, where he had a room for us to stay in, and every morning and evening he drove me to the restaurant, and I prepped and painted for four days.  He also brought clients to experience Rolfing with Christa.  We were so very blessed.  A special thank you to Noe'.

In the evenings after a day of work, we got to walk on the beach, play in the surf, share a beer or two, or a glass of wine.  It was truly a blissful gift.

,We were able to enjoy local families, as Noe', introduced us to the makers of the special tostadas, who made us dinner, provided small tokens of love.  More and more we are entering a time of peace where light and love reign.  Where goodness, kindness, compassion are the prevailing superpowers.  More and more people are waking up to light of love.  

I needed a ladder to stand on and even though Noe' didn't have one, he sees one in a yard and stops and asks the men there if he could barrow it, and just like that I had a ladder to use for a few days.  

​The more we all come together in harmony and solidarity and begin helping each other out the more peace will reign.  Let us, let go of our differences, our offences, our judgments, our self-centered ways that we have been taught, and let us pick up an INSTEAD. 
Mark 12:30-31 tells us: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. 'The second is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 'There is no other commandment greater that these."

The name of the restaurant is "The Flavors of My Land".  What are the flavors of your land?  Is it the flavor of peace, of love, of kindness, of generosity, of compassion, of looking at your neighbor with eyes of love?  It begins with our own hearts.

I ran out of time to repair the right side of the circle...darn now I will have to go back next week and fix it and maybe take a walk on the beach!
